Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
The momblock operator establishes the following policy for information handled by the iOS app “momblock” and this support site.
1. Information Handled on the Device
momblock handles the following information entered or selected by users on their devices:
- Registered display names, photos, relationships, and custom messages
- Blocked targets, allowed domains, and Screen Time setting status
- Notification times, days of the week, frequency, and sender settings
- Consecutive-day counts, blocking history, reset history, and emergency-screen results
- App settings such as language
Display names, photos, relationships, messages, notification content, the specific blocked targets and allowed domains you select, and the contents of your history are not sent to servers operated by the momblock operator, even when usage analytics is enabled as described in Section 4. The setting states and counts that may be sent are limited to those listed in Section 4. The one exception is the Plus “AI call” feature, which sends the display name and what you say during the call; see Section 5. Depending on your device’s backup settings, on-device information may be included in backups provided by Apple.
2. Photos and Screen Time Information
Selected photos are stored in the app’s private storage and in the iOS App Group storage required for Shield display. Photos are not used for advertising, analytics, or personal identification, and are not uploaded to servers operated by the momblock operator.
Screen Time-related processing uses Apple frameworks such as Family Controls and Managed Settings. The momblock operator does not collect browsing history from Safari or other browsers.
Information about apps and categories selected for blocking is stored only on the device (in the App Group) as opaque tokens issued by the iOS Screen Time feature. Tokens and the names of selected apps, categories, and domains are not sent externally.
3. In-App Purchases
Apple manages Plus purchases, billing, refunds, and payment information. To enable features, momblock checks product information and purchase-entitlement status provided by Apple on the device. The momblock operator does not obtain payment information such as credit card numbers. When usage analytics is enabled as described in Section 4, momblock may send the display of a purchase screen, purchase attempts and completions, and purchase-entitlement status as usage data, but does not send payment details or Apple account information.
4. Usage Analytics
Usage analytics are enabled by default, and we send the following information. You can turn usage analytics off at any time in Settings, which also deletes unaggregated data associated with that app installation from our servers. Turning usage analytics off does not affect app functionality or Plus access.
- Randomly generated app-instance, session, and event identifiers, plus a random secret used to authenticate deletion requests; none are your name, Apple ID, or advertising identifier
- App version, build number, language, and development, preview, or production environment
- Onboarding completion, Screen Time authorization, blocker enabled status, purchase entitlement, and current plan or product identifier
- Events and timestamps such as app opens, onboarding start and completion, purchase-screen (paywall) views, and purchase attempts and results
- Counts of registered blocked apps, categories, and domains; the selected items themselves are not included
We never send Screen Time tokens, app names, category names, domain names, display names, photos, relationships, custom messages, notification content, or browsing history to the analytics service.
We use usage data only to produce usage totals, evaluate onboarding and purchase flows, and improve the app. We do not use it for advertising, tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, identifying individuals, or selling data to third parties. We do not engage in tracking as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.
We use Vercel to provide the analytics API and Supabase to store and aggregate analytics data. As service providers, they may process standard connection information such as IP addresses, user agents, and access dates and times to provide and secure their services.
Raw, event-level analytics are generally retained for 90 days and removed by a daily deletion job. Depending on when that job runs, physical deletion may be delayed by up to approximately one day. We retain an app-installation record containing current setting states and counts to provide analytics, and remove it through the same daily job after 90 days without communication from that installation. After deletion, we may retain only aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to a person or specific app installation.
5. AI Calls (Plus)
When you start an AI call with Plus, the following information is sent to servers operated by the momblock operator, only for the duration of that call. If you do not use AI calls, nothing described in this section is sent.
- The display name you registered for the caller
- A speaking-style hint, if you entered one
- What you type during the call, and the conversation for that call
- The app language, the caller’s voice type, and which turn of the call it is
- A randomly generated identifier and secret used for AI calls (separate from the identifier used for usage analytics in Section 4)
Our server passes what it receives to Google’s Gemini model through the Vercel AI Gateway and returns the generated line to your device. We send these requests with zero data retention required, so the content is not kept beyond the time needed to generate the response. We do not store the conversation, the display name, or the speaking-style hint on servers operated by the momblock operator. We store only the random identifier above, the number of turns, the language, the processing volume, and whether the response succeeded, and we use these to understand usage volume and to prevent abuse.
Photos, Screen Time tokens, the names of blocked apps, categories, and domains, notification content, and browsing history are not sent for AI calls either.
6. Inquiries
If you contact us by email, we use your email address, message, and any information you voluntarily attach to respond to the inquiry, investigate defects, and prevent misuse. Information that is no longer needed for these purposes will be deleted within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or to address a dispute.
7. Support Site
This site is delivered using Vercel. Vercel may process standard access information, such as IP addresses, user agents, and access dates and times, for secure delivery, incident investigation, and protection against unauthorized access. This site does not use advertising cookies or its own access analytics.
8. Advertising
On the free plan, momblock shows banner ads using Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC. To deliver ads, measure impressions and taps, and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes your IP address, your device and OS type, and information about ad impressions and taps in the app. momblock requests only non-personalized ads and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not collected. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we may ask for your consent regarding ads through Google’s consent screen. While you use Plus, no ads are shown and no ads are loaded. Photos, blocked targets, and call content are never used for advertising. For how Google handles data, see Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
9. Service Providers and Third-Party Disclosure
Apple, Vercel, Supabase, and Google process information as needed to provide purchase processing, delivery of the site and the analytics and AI-call APIs, analytics storage and aggregation, and AI-call response generation and ad delivery on the free plan, respectively. We do not sell or provide collected personal information to third parties, except where required by law, with the user’s consent, or when necessary to protect life, physical safety, or property.
10. Retention, Deletion, and Choices
- Turning off usage analytics stops new usage data from being sent and deletes raw data associated with that app installation’s random identifier from the server. Statistics that have already been de-identified and aggregated and cannot be restored to the identifier are not subject to deletion.
- You can delete data stored by momblock on the device using the reset feature on the app’s settings screen.
- Deleting the app deletes its data from the device, but Apple’s rules apply to device backups and Apple purchase history.
- To request deletion of inquiry information, contact us from the email address used for the inquiry.
11. Security Measures
We take reasonable security measures appropriate to the nature of the information handled to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or leakage. However, complete security cannot be guaranteed for electronic storage or communications.
12. Use by Children
Minors should use the app with a parent or guardian’s consent and supervision as necessary. Do not include personal information that is unnecessary for us to respond to an inquiry.
13. Changes
We may revise this Policy in response to changes in the app’s features or applicable laws and regulations. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this site.
